Finishing up the month with two essays. We’ll be back in March, with announcements about the new book.

Does Disney World need a fifth park?

Is it Bob or Bobby?

So, here’s a bit of a peak at an upcoming event…

A Parkside View: Volumes 7 & 8

Bob’s fifteenth published title will be released in March. Bringing together all of the essays from volume 7 and volume 8 of the monthly newsletter, this collection will contain sixty-four total pieces (including five debuting exclusively on its pages).

We’ll have more details when March arrives. For now, catch up on what you’ve missed by getting your copies of the first three collections. Available in print and Kindle editions, from Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other online booksellers, here are the links for the Amazon paperbacks:

A Parkside View: Volumes 5 & 6

A Parkside View: Volumes 3 & 4

A Parkside View: Volumes 1 & 2

Some interesting, fun, exciting stuff taking place, and that’s caused a bit of a shift to plans for this month. As a response, we’re going to bring it all together for an anniversary celebration and tremendous kick off for the rest of the year.

March 2024 means twenty-one years of the In My Backpack website. Twenty-one years of growth and change that has taken our small little corner of the internet from a place where we began by posting some essays and sharing some thoughts and experimenting a bit to all of the wandering about that leads to places and corners and surprises you’ll find today.

Essays and interviews. Travel and sports. Photo galleries and A Parkside View. Fourteen published books. Quite the adventure. And it’s going to keep getting better.

With the latest anniversary, we’ve got some terrific plans in place for fireworks and a bit of applause. The fifteenth book – A Parkside View: Volumes 7 & 8 – will be released in March. A lot more news on that over the next few days. Interviews are returning! We’ve got a very special guest lined up as we bring interviews back to the main site and the newsletter. Over the next few months, we’re going to be doing a massive overhaul of the site as well as lining up release dates for additional books.

Great stuff.

We also have a really fantastic project in development that we hope to debut in March. This one is a brilliant effort to add to Backpackville, and I am really hoping you will enjoy it. Going to keep the curtain in place, at least for a bit longer, since a few outside bells and whistles need to be lined up.

All of that outlined, let’s finish up February with a strong run. Two essays today and a few more on the way...

The new atmospheric river

Now you see them, now you…

February 1st

This is going to be a crazy month. We’ve got a new book moving along toward publication, and should have some news about that over the next few days. Also have the latest issue of A Parkside View just about ready to go.

The Country Bear Jamboree has closed and is being remodeled. Here’s an article and a video going over the famous show.

Ok… deep breath… everyone needs to take a deep breath… the new park is not going to be a Disney topper. We all know that, right? No need for a massively deep dive, yes? Good. That said, Epic Universe from Universal does have some interesting and, frankly, potentially brilliant elements. Harry Potter and Nintendo can both, I think fairly, be considered proven and extremely appealing theme park areas. And the incorporation of the monsters fascinates me with the possibilities. It’s going to be a fantastic addition to Orlando vacations.
